The Beginning of Day

She began, on a whim, to talk out loud;
She echoed my thoughts of tomorrow
We'll kiss and talk and never be seen.
The guise, I thought, our love.

This was after all, beginning of the day
So I'd have to wait for my great escape.

I don't know why, but I love you.
I don't know why, but I do.

She heard me crack, my voice all torn.
As I lent to kiss her goodbye.
Nothing would bring me back to this place.
I knew as she spoke out loud.
